Coffee versus caffeine supplements: why research doesn’t treat them the same
Most of the strongest exercise studies use measured caffeine doses from capsules, powder, or anhydrous caffeine, not coffee. That matters for two reasons.

- Is the comparison fair? “Clinically studied” caffeine research almost always used isolated caffeine, not a specific branded product. A product containing caffeine is not the same as a product that has itself been tested.
